1963 Fleer Collection (255) Including Two Complete Sets

Starting Bid - $300, Sold For - $1,800

Presented is an outstanding collection of 255 cards from the 1963 Fleer set, highlighted by two complete 66-card sets (both missing the checklist). This is an unusually large group of cards from this classic issue. The 1963 Fleer set is considered by many to be among the most attractive as well as significant issues of the early 1960s. These cards have long been a special favorite of collectors, and with good reason: They are far rarer than Topps issues from the era; they are unusual; they have a great significance to the history of the "bubblegum-card wars"; they are relatively few in number and they include so many great stars from the golden era of the early 1960s. 1963 Fleer are never going out of style with advanced collectors. This is one of the premier sets of the 1960s. The offered collection is extremely bright and clean throughout, with the normal number of centering problems expected from this set. The 1963 Fleer set is notorious for such severe centering issues, which makes the assembly of high-grade sets especially difficult. One complete set ranges in grade from Ex to Nr/Mt (averaging Ex-Mt), while the other grades Ex to Ex-Mt overall. The duplicates range in grade from Vg-Ex to Ex-Mt (averaging Ex+), with a few lesser. We have selected three cards to be graded and encapsulated by SGC. Keys: Four #4 B. Robinson (three Ex-Mt and one Vg-Ex), three 5 Mays (NM+ 86, Ex, and Vg+), three 8 Yastrzemski (two Ex and one Vg-Ex), five 32 Santo (one Ex-Mt, three Ex, and one Vg), four 41 Drysdale (two Ex-Mt and two Vg-Ex), three 42 Koufax (Ex, Vg-Ex, and Authentic), four 43 Wills (three Ex-Mt and one Ex), four 45 Spahn (one Ex-Mt, two Vg-Ex, and one Vg), four 46 Adcock (one Ex-Mt, two Ex, and one Vg-Ex), two 56 Clemente (EX/MT+ 82 and Vg-Ex), two 59 Mazeroski (both Ex+), three 61 Gibson (all Ex), and three 64 Cepeda (Ex-Mt and two Ex). This is an outstanding and very sizable collection of these popular cards, highlighted by two complete sets and 123 duplicates (including fourteen Hall of Famers). Total: 255 cards.  Reserve $300. Estimate $500/$1,000+. SOLD FOR $1,800
