1955 Topps #123 Sandy Koufax Rookie

Starting Bid - $300, Sold For - $1,080

Graded EX-MT+ 6.5 by PSA (submitted by REA). Exceptionally attractive high-grade example of Sandy Koufax's rookie card. The 1955 Topps Koufax rookie (#123) is the second most valuable card in that year's set, only surpassed by Roberto Clemente's rookie card in the high-number series. Bright, crisp, and clean, with four strong corners showing just the slightest hint of wear at the tips, flawless registration, and near-perfect centering. The few extremely light printing specs in the yellow background, which are typical of this card, are mentioned strictly for the sake of accuracy. We are presenting this modern classic as its own lot in part to emphasize that, with patience, some of card collecting's most interesting and noteworthy cards are possible to collect in high grade without spending a fortune. Sandy Koufax's rookie card will always be one of the most famous and popular cards of the 1950s.  Reserve $300. Estimate $500+. SOLD FOR $1,080
