1952 Topps #1 Andy Pafko

Starting Bid - $300, Sold For - $1,560

Graded EX 5 by PSA. Tremendous example of #1 Andy Pafko (black back) from the classic 1952 Topps set. The #1 Andy Pafko card is a particularly significant card in the 1952 Topps set, the premier set of the postwar era, not only for its position at the beginning of the set, but also as one of card collecting's most famous and important condition rarities. The offered example appears Near Mint or better at first glance, with an extremely bright, crisp, and clean front, a flawless image, bold colors, and four strong corners. The image is almost perfectly centered. A tiny spot resembling surface scuffing or paper loss in the center of the black-back reverse is all that keeps this card from grading considerably higher. This is an exceptional high-grade example of #1 Andy Pafko from the legendary 1952 Topps set, which shares all the characteristics with a much higher-graded example but is available at a fraction of the cost.  Reserve $300. Estimate $500+. SOLD FOR $1,560
