1923 Zeenut PCL Moses Yellowhorse - Highest Graded!

Starting Bid - $200, Sold For - $600

Graded EX 60 by SGC (submitted by REA). This is the ONLY example graded at this level with none higher! Superb 1923 Zeenut PCL example of Moses Yellowhorse (without coupon), the first Native American to play in the Major Leagues. The 1923 Zeenut set is comprised of players from eight different teams (Los Angeles, Oakland, Portland, Sacramento, Salt Lake City, San Francisco, Seattle, and Vernon). The 1923 Zeenut set is the only year the cards were issued in two different series. The "regular" series cards feature black-and-white photos and are dated 1923 (coupons have expiration date of April 1st, 1924), while the second series contains just twenty-four cards (all Oakland and San Francisco players) with sepia-toned images used from the 1922 Zeenut series, and are dated 1923 (coupons have expiration date of April 1st, 1923). The offered card is a "regular" series card, and the coupon has been neatly removed (as intended). The card presents a crisp image, four strong corners, and only small areas of edge wear where the coupon was removed. The blank reverse is clean. An extremely attractive example of Moses Yellowhorse, one of the key cards to the 1923 Zeenut PCL set, worthy of any Zeenut or sample-card collection.  Reserve $200. Estimate (open). SOLD FOR $600
