1915 E145 Cracker Jack #30 Ty Cobb

Starting Bid - $1,000, Sold For - $5,400

Graded VG 40 by SGC. Presented is one of vintage-card collecting's most recognizable icons and one of the key cards of the 1915 E145 Cracker Jack series: #30 Ty Cobb. Besides being the second most valuable card in the set (behind Joe Jackson), it is also one of the most desirable and striking of all Ty Cobb cards. This example is bright and crisp, both front and back, with bold colors, even wear to the corners, and outstanding centering. Two tiny, almost imperceptible surface creases account for the grade, one to the right of Cobb's hat and the other in the top right corner. Light caramel staining is visible on front and back. This is an attractive example of card #30 Ty Cobb in an extremely desirable mid-grade. The classic Cracker Jack set is considered by many to be the most beautiful card set ever issued. The E145 Ty Cobb has always been, and will always be, in high demand, and the offered example would make a worthy addition to any Cracker Jack, Hall of Fame, or classic-card collection.  Reserve $1,000. Estimate $2,000/$3,000+. SOLD FOR $5,400
