1912 T207 Brown Background Paddy Livingston "A" on Shirt PSA EX-MT 6 - 1 of 1 - Highest Graded!

Starting Bid - $300, Sold For - $1,200

Graded EX-MT 6 by PSA. This is the ONLY example graded at this level with none higher! Superb example of Paddy Livingston ("A" on shirt) from the condition-sensitive T207 Brown Background series. The Livingston with "A" on his shirt variation (the result of Livingston being purchased from the Philadelphia A's by the Cleveland Naps in the off-season before 1912 season) has long been recognized as scarce and one of the most interesting cards in the set. (The "A" was somehow overlooked, and upon discovery of the error, the "A" was replaced with a "C" on his jersey. In fact, there are two variations relating to the size of the "C" on the corrected card. Almost certainly the initial printing with the "A" was just an oversight, due to the use of an image featuring Livingston in his Athletics uniform as when the set was designed. Images of Livingston with Cleveland were not yet available. Note that Livingston is identified as with Cleveland even on his "A on shirt " card.) The offered card is extremely bright and crisp, and presents a strong and impressive image of Livingston. This card has four strong corners, perfect registration, and is centered towards the bottom, with a particularly full top border. The back is also bright and clean, with bold advertising print for Recruit Little Cigars. Outstanding high-grade example of this extremely interesting, desirable, and scarce variation from the classic T207 Brown Background series.  Reserve $300. Estimate $500+. SOLD FOR $1,200
