Starting Bid - $200, Sold For - $540
Presented is a trio of Hall of Famers from the legendary T206 White Border series, each in portrait pose and professionally graded by PSA. Each card is additionally noteworthy for an interesting printing anomaly that sets it apart from a normal card. This collection consists of the following: 1) Roger Bresnahan/portrait: VG-EX+ 4.5. Sweet Caporal 150 reverse, with a double factory line. The Factory 649 overprint is placed directly above the Factory 30 line instead of being covered up. 2) Hughie Jennings/portrait: VG-EX 4 (MC). Piedmont 350 reverse, with the Factory 25 line printed at top and not at the bottom. 3) Rube Marquard/portrait: GOOD 2 (MC). Piedmont 350 reverse, with the complete nameplate at top and bottom on the front and the complete factory line at top and bottom on the reverse. The T206 set, affectionately known as "The Monster," is the most popular of all 1910-era sets and is still yielding new and exciting discoveries more than a century after its production. Incredible research is conducted on a daily basis into the intricacies of this legendary set. This is a fascinating set of printing anomalies that we believe will greatly interest collectors of the various nuances found within this iconic set. Total: 3 cards. Reserve $200. Estimate (open).
