1909-1911 T206 White Border Ty Cobb Red and Green Portrait PSA-Graded Pair

Starting Bid - $300, Sold For - $1,920

Pair of T206 White Border Ty Cobb cards representing half of the four Cobb poses from this legendary set. Presented here are both portrait variations, red and green, each considered to be among the most iconic of all Cobb cards and among the most recognizable of all vintage trading cards. Each card is graded and encapsulated by PSA. 1) Ty Cobb/green background: Encapsulated as Authentic, possibly due to a slightly irregular cut along the top edge. We grade this card Fair, with a crisp image of Cobb set against a bold green background, even rounding to the corners, and centering entirely to the top. Piedmont 150 reverse, with a small ink stain in the lower third. 2) Ty Cobb/red background: GOOD+ 2.5. Stunning example for the grade, presenting as Ex from the front, with strong corners, flawless colors, and outstanding centering. Piedmont 350 reverse, with faint albums lines and a few, almost imperceptible paper pulls, which account for the modest technical grade. Outstanding opportunity to acquire two very attractive examples of these classic Ty Cobb cards. Total: 2 cards.  Reserve $300. Estimate $500+. SOLD FOR $1,920
