1909-1911 T206 White Border PSA-Graded Hall of Fame Collection (15) Including Three Ty Cobb and Two Cy Young

Starting Bid - $1,000, Sold For - $5,700

Tremendous collection of fifteen different Hall of Famers from the classic T206 White Border series, each graded and encapsulated by PSA (all submitted by REA). These fifteen cards have been saved for decades by our consignor, who purchased them many years ago because he liked the way the cards looked and because they pictured some of the greatest players ever to play the game of baseball. Each card was selected with an eye for overall appearance, and while grading standards were a little different in those early days, as can easily be seen, all are beautiful cards. All cards have a Piedmont advertising reverse. This collection consists of the following: Chance/batting (VG-EX 4), Chance/red (VG-EX 4), Cobb/green (Authentic, due to evidence of trimming, otherwise Vg), Cobb/bat off (GOOD+ 2.5), Cobb/bat on (Authentic, due to evidence of trimming, otherwise Vg), Evers/Cubs (Authentic, due to evidence of trimming, otherwise Gd), Evers/portrait (VG-EX 4), Keeler/with bat (VG+ 3.5), Mathewson/dark cap (VG+ 3.5), McGraw/glove at hip (VG 3), McGraw/with cap (GOOD 2), Speaker (Authentic, due to evidence of trimming, otherwise Fr/Gd), Young/bare hand (VG-EX 4), Young/glove shows (VG 3), and Young/portrait (Authentic, due to evidence of trimming, otherwise Gd/Vg). This is a very impressive-looking group comprised exclusively of Hall of Famers, loaded with key cards, and with most cards having an appearance superior to their technically accurate assigned grades. The total SMR value for just ten of the cards (factoring in the three half-grades at the lower whole-grade level and not including the five cards graded Authentic) is $3,475. Total: 15 cards.  Reserve $1,000. Estimate $2,500+. SOLD FOR $5,700
