1909-1911 T206 White Border Cy Young Portrait
Starting Bid - $300, Sold For - $1,800
Graded VG 40 by SGC (submitted by REA). T206 portrait of Cy Young set against a bold green background. This is one of Cy Young's most striking cards and one of the most popular cards in the entire T206 set. The offered card is one of the highlights of a completely untouched collection of tobacco cards consigned to this auction. It displays a bright, crisp, and perfectly focused image of Young, and the shade of green in the background allows for ideal contrast and gives this card particularly strong eye-appeal. The card is well centered with even wear to the four corners. Only light edge abrasions along the right border keep this card from grading higher. The Piedmont reverse is entirely clean. A very attractive example of one of Cy Young’s most striking cards from the premier tobacco-card set of the era. Reserve $300. Estimate $500+. SOLD FOR $1,800
