1911 T3 Turkey Red SGC-Graded Hall of Fame Collection (6) Including Chance, Joss, and Lajoie

Starting Bid - $1,000, Sold For - $4,500

Stunning collection of six different Hall of Famers from the classic T3 Turkey Red cabinet-card issue (out of a total of twenty-three Hall of Famers in the set). Each card is graded and encapsulated by SGC (submitted by REA). These cards were part of a very substantial, totally untouched collection of 1910-era tobacco cards consigned to this auction (all cards from this collection appear in several lots on the Internet Only section). This is a beautiful group! This collection consists of the following: #8 Fred Clarke (VG/EX+ 55), 19 Addie Joss (VG/EX 50), 23 Nap Lajoie (VG+ 45), 40 Vic Willis (VG 40), 47 Frank Chance (VG 40), and 125 Ed Walsh (VG/EX+ 55). Each card is bright and crisp, with vibrant colors, outstanding centering, and light touches of wear at the corners. Five of the six cards have checklist backs (with offer); Walsh has an advertising back. Turkey Red cabinets are universally recognized as one of the most beautiful baseball-card issues ever produced. These cards represent a collection unto themselves or could serve as a very substantial foundation toward the assembly of a complete collection of Turkey Red Hall of Famers. The equivalent SMR value in the assigned grades is $4,775. Total: 6 cards.  Reserve $1,000. Estimate $2,500+. SOLD FOR $4,500
