1911 T3 Turkey Red #105 Hans Lobert SGC EX/NM 80 - Highest Graded!
Starting Bid - $300, Sold For - $1,560
Graded EX/NM 80 by SGC (submitted by REA). This is the ONLY example graded at this level with none higher by SGC! (PSA has only graded a single EX-MT 6, with none higher.) Stunning example of #105 Hans Lobert (Cincinnati Reds) from the classic T3 Turkey Red cabinet-card issue. This card was one of the many highlights of a very substantial, totally untouched collection of 1910-era tobacco cards consigned to this auction (all cards from this collection appear in several lots on the Internet Only section). Bright and crisp, with vibrant colors, outstanding centering, and only very light touches of wear at the corners. Checklist (with offer) reverse. A grade of EX/NM 80 by SGC might not be that big a deal for a T206 or a 1933 Goudey, but it is an extremely high grade for a T3. (Only six cards, of any player, have ever graded higher than EX/NM out of 2,490 cards evaluated by SGC to date!) Turkey Red cabinets are universally recognized as one of the most beautiful baseball-card issues ever produced. This cards would make a tremendous addition to any high-quality Turkey Red set! Reserve $300. Estimate $500+. SOLD FOR $1,560
