1966 Topps "Superman" Unopened Wax Box (24 Packs)
Starting Bid - $1,000, Sold For - $4,200
Complete original unopened wax box of 1966 Topps "Superman" nonsport cards. The box houses twenty-four packs with each pack containing ten cards, for a total of 240 cards. This display box features a black-and-white image of the actor portraying Superman on the box top, along with the set title boldly printed in blue and yellow against the red background. This box comes shrink-wrapped by Baseball Card Exchange (owned by Steve Hart, the foremost expert on unopened material). This is a rare unopened box, and in fact is the first 1966 Topps "Superman" unopened wax box REA has ever offered! While it is impossible to provide guarantees with reference to grading of unopened material, there is, of course, the very real possibility that within this box are Mint or Gem Mint examples. The store display box is bright and bold, with only a few minor touches of shelf wear visible against the red background. It otherwise presents exactly as it did on store shelves nearly fifty years ago! This is an outstanding complete unopened wax box from this very popular nonsport issue. Reserve $1,000. Estimate (open). SOLD FOR $4,200
