1888 N25 Allen & Ginter “Wild Animals of the World” Partial Set (31/50)
Starting Bid - $200, Sold For - $360
Partial set of 1888 N25 Allen & Ginter “Wild Animals of the World” consisting of thirty-one different cards out of fifty in a complete set. This is an attractive partial set of these very scarce and colorful tobacco cards, bright and clean, grading Vg to Vg-Ex overall, with one lesser, when viewed from the front; however, eleven cards have flaws on the reverse, such as small areas of paper loss or pencil/ink marks, which would cause them to grade more modestly. Issued with Allen & Ginter's Cigarettes, each card features a beautifully rendered multicolor illustration of wildlife from all different areas of the world. The animals are checklisted on the back of the cards. This is very attractive nineteenth-century nonsport tobacco-card partial set of this classic issue, with outstanding eye-appeal. Total: 31 cards. Reserve $200. Estimate (open). SOLD FOR $360
