1970 Beneath the Planet of the Apes - Ape Costume

Original ape costume used by an extra during the filming of the 1970 Twentieth Century-Fox release Beneath the Planet of the Apes. The costume is comprise of a naugahyde vest, a purple long-sleeve button-down tunic with matching purple drawstring pants, a pair of naugahyde gloves (with green cloth fingers), and a leather ammunition belt. The vest features a Western Costume Co. tag on the interior (size 40). Beneath the Planet of the Apes was the sequel to the highly popular 1968 science-fiction film Planet of the Apes. Three additional films in the series were released in the 1970s before the series was given a modern-day resurrection in 2001. All of the garments display moderate wear and are in Excellent condition overall. Reserve $200. Estimate $400++. SOLD FOR $720
