1910-Era Boxing and other Sports Tobacco-Card Collection (126) Including T218, T221, T225, T227, and T230

Outstanding collection consisting of 114 tobacco cards featuring boxers and other sporting figures from five different 1910-era sets, plus twelve 1920s stripcards for a total of 126 cards. This collection consists of the following: 1) T218 Champion Athletes and Prize Fighters (47 cards): Five Vg and forty-two lesser. The T218s feature various champion athletes of the era, including aviators, billiards champions, and track-and-field stars, all of which comprise the offered grouping. 2) T221 Pan Handle Scrap Champion Women Swimmers (43 cards): #1 (2), 5 (2), 6, 7, 8, 9 (2), 10 (2), 11 (2), 13, 14 (2), 15 (2), 16, 17, 18 (2), 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24 (2), 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 31, 36, 37 (2), 38 (2), 39, 78, and 97. Condition is Pr to Gd overall. 3) T225 Surbrug Prize Fight Series 101 (7 cards): Driscoll, Frayne, two Hart, Murphy, Papke, and Sullivan. All Pr to Fr. 4) T227 Series of Champions (15 cards): three Dixie IV (motorboat racing, Pr), Goodwin (swimmer, Pr), two Kramer (runner, Fr and Pr), two McGrath (weight thrower, Pr), two Mulford (auto racer, Fr and Pr), two Sheppard (runner, Pr), two Uhlan (trotter, Pr), and Zbyszko (wrestler, Pr). 5) T230 Pan Handle Scrap World's Champion Athletes (2 cards): Erickson (Pr) and Gissing (Fr). 6) 1920 W516 (2 cards): #1 Dundee (Pr) and 3 Britton (Pr). 7) 1923 W515 (9 cards): #1 Dempsey, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9. Condition is Vg to Vg-Ex. 8) 1926 W512 (1 card): #41 Dempsey (Vg). While the cards in this collection are almost all in modest condition, they represent an outstanding opportunity for a collector who wants real, authentic, original 1910-era tobacco cards from these classic sets but is not interested in spending the potentially thousands of dollars it would take to acquire these cards in higher grade.
