Notre Dame Heisman Trophy Winners Limited-Edition Signed Lithograph Collection (10)

Starting Bid - $500, Sold For - $600

Collection of ten identical impressive limited-edition signed lithographs, produced by artist Steven Csorba in 1991, commemorating (and personally signed by) the seven Notre Dame players who have won the coveted Heisman Trophy: Angelo Bertelli (1943), John Lujak (1947), Leon Hart (1949), John Lattner (1953), Paul Hornung (1956), John Huarte (1964), and Tim Brown (1987). All of the lithographs have been flawlessly signed in pencil (grading "10") along the bottom white border by each of the seven of the players represented here, as well as the artist. The design features beautiful portrait images of each player in the center, surrounded on all sides by various full-body vignettes of the respective players in action poses. These lithographs were limited in number to only 1,000, and each has been individually hand-numbered in pencil in the lower left corner. The ten numbered lithographs in this collection are "631/1,000," "632/1,000," "633/1,000," "634/1,000," "635/1,000," "636/1,000," "638/1,000," "639/1,000," "640/1,000," and "641/1,000." Although 1,000 of these lithographs were produced, we have seen very few other examples offered at auction over the past twenty-four years. It should also be noted that both Bertelli and Hart are now deceased, making this an especially desirable Notre Dame signed Heisman Trophy commemorative piece. Each lithograph (21 x 36.25 inches) displays very minor rippling along the top and a few show some very light border wear; otherwise, all would display as Near Mint if mounted and framed. Total: 10 signed lithographs. LOA from James Spence/JSA.  Reserve $500. Estimate (open). SOLD FOR $600
