1972 Mike Nagy Boston Red Sox Game-Used Home Uniform (Jersey and Pants)
Starting Bid - $200, Sold For - $360
Boston Red Sox home uniform (jersey and pants) worn by pitcher Mike Nagy in 1972. The white flannel jersey is lettered "Red Sox" across the front and features the number "15" on the reverse. All letters and numbers are appliquèd in red on blue felt. Located on the left front tail are a "McAuliffe" label, a "1972" year tag, and a "40" size tag. The matching white flannel pants feature both a "McAuliffe" label and "1972" year tag in the waistband. Also located in the waistband, chain-stitched in blue are Nagy's uniform number, "15," and both the waist size ("33") and inseam measurement ("24") of the garment. Both the jersey and pants are original as issued, with no alterations, and display very light wear (a few light dirt stains in the area of each knee are the only signs of use). The lack of use is understandable given that Nagy only appeared in one game with the Red Sox in 1972. The Red Sox employed both flannel and knit uniforms in 1972 before switching over to only knit uniforms the following season. Therefore, this is one of the last Boston Red Sox flannel jerseys ever issued. 1972 was Nagy's fourth and final season with the Red Sox. He retired in 1974 with a career record of 20-13. This is an outstanding Boston Red Sox style uniform dating from the club's final season wearing flannels. Reserve $200. Estimate $500+. SOLD FOR $360
