1911 T217 Mono Cigarettes R. Couchman

Starting Bid - $200, Sold For - $960

Graded VG 40 by SGC (submitted by REA). Extremely rare sample card of 1911 T217 Mono Cigarettes featuring R. Couchman of Los Angeles. The reverse of the card has the Mono Cigarettes advertisement in bold blue printing. The 25-card T217 Mono Cigarettes set is one of the rarest of all Pacific Coast League issues and also one of the rarest of all 1910-era tobacco-card issues. The card presents beautifully, with a crisp image, near-perfect centering, and even wear to the corners. The back is clean and crisp with a very tiny crease visible underneath "Turkish Blend" (noticeable only under close inspection). This is a very attractive card which has a much stronger overall appearance at a glance than its assigned grade suggests. An exceptional sample card from this extremely rare PCL tobacco issue.  Reserve $200. Estimate (open). SOLD FOR $960
