1950s PM10 Brooklyn Dodgers Player-Pin Collection (13)
Starting Bid - $300, Sold For - $1,200
This collection of thirteen Brooklyn Dodgers stadium pins, dating from the 1950s, is comprised of both blue-background and black-and-white (name-on-top) examples, all of which feature an individual portrait image of a Dodgers player on the front. All of these pins are part of distinctive and particularly desirable subsets of stadium pins (all of which are catalogued together as "PM10" but which clearly are numerous distinct sets). Various sizes are represented here, with four of the pins featuring both an attached ribbon and charm. Blue-Back pins (7). These pins feature a black-and-white photo of the respective player against a blue background. Unless otherwise noted, all of the pins measure 1.75 inches in diameter. The players featured here are Jackie Robinson, Roy Campanella (with ribbon and charm), Duke Snider (two examples, one, measuring 3.5 inches in diameter), Gil Hodges (with ribbon and charm), Sandy Amoros, and Don Newcombe. Black-and-White pins (6). Two different sizes are represented here. The four larger examples, which measure two inches in diameter, feature, respectively, Duke Snider, Don Newcombe, Johnny Podres, and Billy Loes. The two smaller variations (1.75 inches in diameter), each of which includes a ribbon and charm, are those of Preacher Roe and Walt Moryn. Condition ranges from Vg to Nr-Mt, averaging Ex-Mt. Total: 13 pins. Reserve $300. Estimate $500/$1,000+. SOLD FOR $1,200
