1910 E96 Philadelphia Caramel Mordecai Brown

Graded VG-EX 4 by PSA. Beautiful example of Hall of Famer Mordecai Brown from the E96 Philadelphia Caramel series. The E96 set, issued by Philadelphia Caramel in 1910, is one of the most popular and colorful of all "E" card issues and is the follow-up to the E95 Philadelphia issue of the previous year. Chicago Cubs pitcher Mordecai Brown is one of eight Hall of Famers featured in the E96 set and is portrayed in a classic follow-through pose set against a bold red background. The offered example presents with a crisp, clean image, bold colors, bright white borders, and four strong corners displaying light, even wear. Centered slightly to the bottom. The reverse is clean, with a boldly printed red checklist and no signs of caramel staining. This is an outstanding midgrade example of one of the key cards in the set: Hall of Famer Mordecai Brown.  Reserve $200. Estimate (open). SOLD FOR $420
