Jackie Robinson Check in Framed Display

This framed wall display features both a Jackie Robinson signed check and a Robinson letter from 1955 that bears a classic secretarial Robinson signature. 1) Personal check, dated "10-29-71," signed by "Jack R. Robinson" in blue ink ("9"). The check, which bears the printed names of both "Jack R. Robinson" and "Rachel A. Robinson," is made out to "Cash" in the amount of $100. Drawn on the State National Bank of Connecticut. The check (6 x 2.75 inches) displays normal bank cancellation stamps and is mounted to its matted backing. In Near Mint condition. 2) One-page typewritten letter, dated May 18, 1955, on Robinson's personal letterhead, signed "Jackie Robinson" in blue ink (secretarial signature). In his brief missive (7 x 9.5 inches) Robinson writes to a fan and thanks him for his "kind and thoughtful letter." The letter is moderately toned, with two horizontal mailing folds. A small magazine photo and descriptive clipping have been affixed to the letter near the base. In Very Good condition overall. Also matted within the framed display is a blank envelope (6 x 3 inches) featuring the logo of the Jackie Robinson Development Corporation (Ex-Mt). Total: 3 items (check, letter, and envelope).
