Three 1953 Honus Wagner Signed 3x5 Cards with Original Signed Mailing Envelope!

Starting Bid - $500, Sold For - $3,259

Collection of three lined index cards, each signed in black ink by Honus Wagner. These three cards have a remarkable provenance! They were originally obtained decades ago by our consignor's husband, a lifelong autograph collector, who, starting in his teens, began the practice of writing players to ask for their autographs. They have remained in the family's sole possession since the day they were received! Ideally, the three signed 3x5 cards are accompanied by their original mailing envelope, postmarked August 1953, which Wagner has also signed in black ink in the area reserved for the return address (just the name, no address). Therefore, this collection includes a total of four Honus Wagner signatures. The three index-card signatures each grade "7/8," while the envelope signature grades "9." All of the cards (5 x 3 inches) are in Near Mint condition. The envelope (6.25 x 3.5 inches) displays only minor foxing and is in Excellent to Mint condition. Total: 4 items (3 index cards and envelope). LOA from James Spence/JSA. Reserve $500. Estimate $2,000+. SOLD FOR $3,259
