Exceptional Circa 1940s Babe Ruth Single-Signed Ball

Starting Bid - $2,000, Sold For - $10,665

Official American League (Harridge) ball signed by Babe Ruth across the sweet spot. Ruth's black fountain-pen signature grades "8" and contrasts beautifully against the cream-colored surface. This is a particularly beautiful high-grade Ruth single-signed ball! Although much of the manufacturer's stampings are faded, enough remains visible to date the ball to the 1940-1945 manufacturing period. The ball displays a few areas of extremely light surface wear and is in strong Excellent condition overall. A Ruth single-signed ball has been the ideal for collectors and fans alike since Babe Ruth's great popularity and generous nature first made the signed baseball an iconic souvenir. Few survive in such outstanding condition. This is a spectacular Ruth single-signed ball! LOA from James Spence/JSA. Reserve $2,000. Estimate $4,000/$8,000. SOLD FOR $10,665
