Circa 1927 New York Yankees Team-Signed Ball with Ruth and Gehrig

Starting Bid - $300, Sold For - $2,252

Official National League (Heydler) ball signed in black fountain pen by the following nine members of the circa 1927 New York Yankees: Ruth (sweet spot, grading "2"), Gehrig ("3/4"), Lazzeri, Combs, Pennock, Dugan, Shawkey, Koenig, and Collins. Sigantures range from "1" to "6," averaging "3/4." It must be noted that these nine players were all on the New York Yankees roster in both 1926 and 1927; therefore it is impossible to attribute the ball to a definite year. Nevertheless, both seasons resulted in American League Championships for the club, with the 1927 team regarded by many as the greatest of all time. The ball is darkly toned, with numerous minor abrasions throughout. All of the manufacturer's labels remain clearly legible. In Very Good condition overall. Full LOA from James Spence/JSA. Reserve $300. Estimate $1,000+. SOLD FOR $2,252
