1969 Topps 4-in-1 Mini Stickers Baseball Proof Sheet
Starting Bid - $400, Sold For - $711
Extremely rare almost-complete color process proof sheet for the 1969 Topps 4-in-1 Mini Stickers test issue. This sheet is missing only the black printing to be a final-process sheet. Modeled after the third series of the standard 1969 Topps set, Topps decided to issue a series of twenty-five sticker cards, each of which featured four "mini versions" of a standard Topps card. Among the stars and Hall of Famers included in the set are Willie Mays, Pete Rose, Bob Gibson, and Don Sutton, as well as several World Series highlight cards. Surviving examples are rarely encountered and are especially desirable among advanced collectors. The offered sheet, which measures approximately 13.25 x 24 inches, displays the blue, red, and yellow color processes and is missing the black color pass. As such, many of the cards, particularly the World Series highlight cards, are missing some or all of the text, such as the player's name and other details. The sheet is in overall Excellent condition, displaying only a few extremely minor flaws in the borders, including light staining at the bottom in the area of the color bars, and light wrinkling to the thin stock. The interior section of cards presents as Near Mint. Outstanding display value and ideal for framing, this is a very rare proof sheet representing a complete set of this late 1960s Topps test issue which would be a superb addition to any uncut-sheet or advanced Topps collection. Reserve $400. Estimate (open). SOLD FOR $711
