1955 Stahl-Meyer Franks Mickey Mantle

Starting Bid - $200, Sold For - $1,185

1955 Stahl-Meyer Mickey Mantle graded POOR 10 by SGC. This is one of the rarest and most attractive of all Mantle cards, and the key card to the set. Stahl-Meyers were regionally issued in the New York area, one card per package, with Stahl-Meyer Franks. The set features a selection of stars from all three New York teams. Stahl-Meyers are usually found with serious condition problems relating to their method of issue, including heavy creases and hot-dog stains. While the offered example exhibits several of these trademark condition flaws, including heavy creasing visible on both sides, it still is a very pleasing low-grade example of one of the keys of all 1950s regional issues, and one of the most highly prized of all Mantle cards. Reserve $200. Estimate (open). SOLD FOR $1,185
