1954 Dan-Dee Potato Chip Mickey Mantle PSA MINT 9 - Highest Graded!

Starting Bid - $5,000, Sold For - $15,405

Graded MINT 9 by PSA. Highest graded! Extraordinary ultra high-grade example of 1954 Dan-Dee Mickey Mantle, one of only seven examples graded by PSA at this MINT level, with none graded higher. This is one of the most attractive of all Mantle cards, and also one of the most difficult to find in high grade. Dan-Dee cards were issued one card per package with Dan-Dee Potato Chips. They are usually found with serious condition problems relating to this method of issue, including creases and potato chip grease stains. This is a simply stunning ultra high-grade Dan-Dee of Mickey Mantle, the key card to the set. Flawlessly clean both front and back, with bold colors, and an undisturbed, clean, even wax coating. Four sharp corners and near-perfect centering (just a few degrees to the left). Even the tiny tabs on the card's edges, related to the separation of the Dan Dee cards from sheet form at the factory, remain perfect. The back is crisp, clean, and perfectly centered. This is an spectacular world-class example of one of the keys of all 1950s food issues, and one of the most highly prized of all Mantle cards. Reserve $5,000. Estimate $10,000+. SOLD FOR $15,405
