1954 Dan-Dee Potato Chip Mickey Mantle PSA NM 7

Starting Bid - $1,000, Sold For - $2,370

Graded NM 7 by PSA. High-grade PSA example of 1954 Dan-Dee Mickey Mantle, one of the most attractive of all Mantle cards, and also one of the most difficult to find in extremely high grade. Dan-Dee cards were issued one card per package with Dan-Dee Potato Chips. They are usually found with serious condition problems relating to this method of issue, including creases and potato-chip grease stains. This is an impressive Dan-Dee of Mickey Mantle, the key card to the set. At a glance it has a NM-MT appearance and has apparently been downgraded by PSA due to the approximately 30/70 top-to-bottom centering and the slightest hint of wear to the corners. Flawlessly clean both front and back, with extremely bold colors, and an undisturbed, clean, even wax coating. This is an exceptional PSA 7 NM example of one of the keys of all 1950s food issues, and one of the most highly prized of all Mantle cards. SMR value for the assigned grade is $2,750. Reserve $1,000. Estimate (open). SOLD FOR $2,370
