1954 Red Man Tobacco #25 Willie Mays PSA NM-MT+ 8.5

Starting Bid - $300, Sold For - $830

Graded NM-MT+ 8.5 by PSA. One of only three examples graded at this level with just one higher. Absolutely stunning, remarkably crisp, ultra high-grade example of Willie Mays, New York Giants star and one of the key Hall of Famers from the 1954 Red Man Tobacco set. Bright, crisp, perfectly clean, with striking colors, four razor-sharp corners, and a flawless reverse with bold green printing. Red Man Tobacco cards are far rarer than most 1950s baseball cards. Because of their tabs (which were designed to be cut) and method of issue, they often have condition problems, and are rarely seen in such high grade. Many consider them to be among the most beautiful cards ever issued, and to represent one of the best values of all cards from the era. This is a simply outstanding ultra high-grade example of this striking and unusual Mays card dating from the early part of his legendary career. Reserve $300. Estimate $500/$1,000. SOLD FOR $830
