Starting Bid - $500, Sold For - $6,518
42% Ex (including some Ex-Mt or better), 41% Vg-Ex, and 17% Vg (including a few lesser). Exceptionally attractive complete low-number run (#1-310) from the classic 1952 Topps series plus six of the rare high-number series cards (#311-407). Missing only ninety-one cards for completion (the #311 Mickey Mantle which accompanied this old-time collection was graded VG+ 45 by SGC and appears separately in this auction). All cards #1-80 have black backs except for #70. We have selected three cards to be graded by SGC. Keys: #1 Pafko (Vg), 2 Runnels RC (Vg-Ex), 11 Rizzuto (Ex), 20 Loes (Vg), 26 Irvin (Ex), 29 Kluszewski (Vg-Ex+), 33 Spahn (SGC EX 60), 36 Hodges (miscut, otherwise Vg), 37 Snider (Ex), 48 Page/correct (Vg-Ex), 49 Sain/correct (Vg-Ex), 57 Lopat (Ex), 59 Roberts (Vg-Ex), 65 Slaughter (Ex), 66 Roe (Vg-Ex+), 88 Feller (Ex), 91 Schoendienst (Vg-Ex+), 129 Mize (Vg-Ex), 175 Martin RC (Vg-Ex), 191 Berra (Gd/Vg), 195 Minoso RC (Ex), 216 Ashburn (Vg), 243 Doby (SGC NM 84), 246 Kell (Vg-Ex), 261 Mays (SGC VG/EX+ 55), 268 Lemon (Vg-Ex), 274 Branca (Ex-Mt), and 277 Wynn (Ex). The following high numbers are also included: #314 Campanella (Vg+), 332 (Vg), 348 (Vg-Ex+), 357 (Vg-Ex), 366 (Vg-Ex+), and 367 (Vg). This is a very attractive complete low-number run of 1952 Topps, one of card collecting’s most popular classics, in a very desirable and relatively affordable grade (compared to the cost of higher-grade 1952 Topps cards) and representing a very substantial start toward a complete set. Total: 316 cards. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000/$2,000+. SOLD FOR $6,518
