1954 Topps Complete Set (250)

Starting Bid - $1,000, Sold For - $5,333

28% Ex-Mt, 48% Ex, and 24% Vg-Ex (including some Vg). The 1954 Topps set has always been one of the most popular sets of the 1950s. Issued in the heart of the decade, the 1954 Topps set features the rookie cards of Hank Aaron, Ernie Banks, and Al Kaline, among many other Hall of Famers and stars, including two examples of Ted Williams (first and last card in the set), all in brilliant and stunning color. Presented is a very attractive complete set highlighted by a particularly strong example of Hank Aaron's rookie card. Very few cards have creases or wrinkles, with any downgrades primarily caused by honest corner wear or centering issues. We have selected four cards to be graded by SGC. Keys: #1 Williams (Vg+), 3 Irvin (Vg-Ex), 10 Robinson (SGC EX+ 70), 13 Martin (Vg-Ex), 17 Rizzuto (Ex), 20 Spahn (Ex), 30 Mathews (Ex), 32 Snider (Ex), 36 Wilhelm (Ex+), 37 Ford (Ex), 45 Ashburn (Ex-Mt), 50 Berra (Ex+), 70 Doby (Vg-Ex+), 90 Mays (Vg-Ex, indentations on front), 94 Banks RC (SGC EX 60), 102 Hodges (Vg-Ex+), 128 Aaron RC (SGC NM 84), 132 Lasorda RC (Ex+), 201 Kaline RC (SGC EX 60), 239 Skowron (Ex+), and 250 Williams (Vg). This is a very strong and extremely consistent complete set of this early 1950s classic, with tremendous eye-appeal throughout. Early sets in this grade are especially desirable, representing the most solid and least volatile value in the world of vintage cards. The equivalent SMR value for just the four graded cards (factoring in the Robinson at the EX 5 level and not including the additional 246 ungraded cards!) is $2,765. Total: 250 cards. Reserve $1,000. Estimate $2,500+. SOLD FOR $5,333
