1959 Topps Near-Complete Set (567/572)

Starting Bid - $400, Sold For - $1,541

41% Ex (including 5% Ex-Mt), 26% Vg-Ex, 19% Vg, and 14% lesser (almost entirely due to the year being written in pen on the reverse). Outstanding mid-grade near-complete set consisting of 567 (out of 572) 1959 Topps cards. Missing only #180 Berra, 262 Hitters' Foes, 519 Infield Power, 543 Corsair Trio, and 550 Campanella for completion. This classic set features all the stars of the era, but in many cases more than once, as so many stars appear again in special multiplayer cards or in the All-Star series in the scarce high-number series (#507-572). This is a particularly clean near-complete set. Most of the cards grading Vg to Vg-Ex have been downgraded solely due to wear at the corners but present with strong colors and crisp images otherwise. Keys: #1 Frick (Fr, miscut front), 10 Mantle (Vg), 20 Snider (Vg-Ex), 30 Fox (Ex+), 40 Spahn (Gd/Vg), 50 Mays (Ex+), 150 Musial (Vg-Ex+), 155 Slaughter (Vg-Ex+), 163 Koufax (Ex), 202 Maris (Ex-Mt), 212 Fence Busters (Ex+), 270 Hodges (Vg+), 300 Ashburn (Gd), 317 NL Hitting Kings (Ex), 338 S. Anderson RC (pen on back, otherwise Ex), 350 Banks (Vg), 352 Roberts (Vg-Ex), 360 Kaline (Ex), 380 Aaron (Gd/Vg), 387 Drysdale (Vg+), 430 Ford (Vg), 435 F. Robinson (Ex), 439 B. Robinson (Ex-Mt), 450 Mathews (Vg), 461 Mantle Homer (Ex), 464 Mays' Catch (Ex), 467 Aaron Clubs Homer (Vg-Ex+), 478 Clemente (Ex), 509 Cash RC (Vg), 510 Yankees team (checklist marked, otherwise Vg-Ex), 514 Gibson RC (Ex+), 515 Killebrew (Vg-Ex), 561 Aaron AS (Vg), 563 Mays AS (Vg), 564 Mantle AS (Vg-Ex+). This is an attractive and consistent mid-grade near-complete set of 1959 Topps, one of the most popular and classic of all baseball-card sets. Total: 567 cards. Reserve $400. Estimate $800+.
