1952 Topps #384 Frank Crosetti PSA NM-MT+ 8.5
Starting Bid - $1,000, Sold For - $3,555
Graded NM-MT+ 8.5 by PSA. Ultra high-grade example of #384 Frank Crosetti from the 1952 Topps set. One of only two examples graded at this level with five higher out of 358 cards evaluated by PSA. Crosetti is an extremely desirable card from this set, both for his status as a member of the New York Yankees and for his positioning among the elusive high-number series cards, which are generally tougher to find in high grade as well. This example is bright and crisp, displaying the characteristics of a pack-fresh card. Bold colors, perfect centering, and sharp corners. Clean reverse, centered slightly to the left. Only a very slight border pinch on the extreme bottom edge holds this back from MINT. This card has been auctioned once before, appearing as lot #539 in REA's Spring 2013 auction (realizing $2,962.50). It has been consigned to this auction directly by the buyer at that sale. This is a stunning high-grade example of this New York Yankees high number that would make an outstanding addition to any world-class 1952 Topps set or New York Yankees collection. SMR is $2,750. Reserve $1,000. Estimate $2,000+. SOLD FOR $3,555
