1887 N172 Old Judge Bill Krieg SGC NM/MT 88

Starting Bid - $400, Sold For - $1,778

Graded NM/MT 88 by SGC. Incredible ultra high-grade N172 example of #269-2 Bill Krieg (1st B., Washington). Few Old Judges have survived in this extraordinary like-new condition. Anyone who has ever sent N172 Old Judges to SGC or PSA knows what a miracle it is to have an N172 be returned with such a high grade. The card is bright and crisp, perfectly clean both front and back, centered a hint to the left with a slight natural diamond cut, four sharp corners, a superb photo image, flawless clarity, and excellent contrast. Krieg played for Washington in 1886 and 1887, appearing in fifty-two games, with a batting average of .254, forty-nine hits, and thirty-two RBIs. This is a tremendous card, one of the best we have ever seen from the N172 Old Judge series, in virtually perfect condition. Reserve $400. Estimate $800+. SOLD FOR $1,778
