1963 Topps #537 Pete Rose Rookie PSA MINT 9
Starting Bid - $2,500, Sold For - $14,220
Graded MINT 9 by PSA. Out of the 2,956 examples PSA has graded to date only one grades higher! Extraordinary ultra high-grade example of Pete Rose’s rookie card. One of card collecting's greatest classics, Rose's rookie card is the key to the 1963 Topps set, and one of the most popular of all postwar baseball cards. This card is particularly difficult to find in high grade due to the flush-to-the-border design, which makes the top edges and corners so susceptible to wear. The card displays outstanding centering (slightly to the right), with flawless bright colors and four razor-sharp corners. Perfectly clean both front and back, with only a tiny, unobtrusive spot on the left border mentioned strictly for the sake of extreme accuracy. Bright and crisp reverse. This is an absolutely stunning, essentially flawless MINT example of the Pete Rose rookie, the key card to the 1963 Topps set and one of the most iconic cards in the collecting world. The SMR value for the assigned grade is $9,750. Reserve $2,500. Estimate $5,000++. SOLD FOR $14,220
