1940 R335 Play Ball #27 Ted Williams

Starting Bid - $300, Sold For - $948

Graded EX-MT 6 by PSA. Extremely attractive example of 1940 Play Ball #27 Ted Williams, one of the most famous and highly prized of all prewar cards. Clean and crisp both front and back with excellent centering and no print marks. We grade this card slightly more conservatively than PSA due to light wear visible to each of the four corners and a tiny wrinkle on the back along with a small, unobtrusive stain on the bottom border just to the left of "Ted." Still, this is an outstanding example of one of Ted Williams’ most classic cards, dating from his second year in the Major Leagues. SMR is $975. Reserve $300. Estimate $500+. SOLD FOR $948
