1933 R333 DeLong #1 Marty McManus PSA NM-MT 8

Starting Bid - $500, Sold For - $2,666

Graded NM-MT 8 by PSA. Ultra high-grade example of card #1 Marty McManus (Boston Red Sox) from one of the scarcest and most popular gum-card issues of the 1930s. The DeLong set has always been highly regarded by collectors, and examples are rarely found in this condition, especially the #1 card, which (as is the case with most sets) was naturally more prone to wear as it tended to gravitate towards the top of stacks and was therefore generally exposed to more wear than other cards. The offered example is exceptionally well centered, with four sharp corners, flawless registration, and extremely strong colors. Clean, boldly printed reverse. SMR is $1,500. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000+. SOLD FOR $2,666
