1918 Zeenut PCL Oakland Oaks Team Collection (18)

Starting Bid - $500, Sold For - $1,896

Collection of eighteen different 1918 Zeenut cards, comprised exclusively of players of the Oakland Oaks from the Pacific Coast League. The 1918 Zeenut set is considered by many to be among the rarest of all Zeenut series, and the cards' red borders give the set a very distinctive look. The collection consists of the following: Arlett, Caldera, Codington, Croll, Gardner, Hawkes, Hollander, Howard, Kremer, Leifer, Martin, Middleton, Miller, Mitze, Murray, Prough, Shader, and Smale. As is usually the case with Zeenuts, the coupon at the bottom of each card has been neatly clipped away, as intended, to be redeemed for valuable prizes. Condition ranges from Pr to Gd-Vg, and as can easily be seen, comparing very favorably to other Zeenut collections from this early era, especially from the 1918 series. As is usually the case with Zeenuts, many of the cards have a much better appearance than suggested by their technically accurate modest grades. This "comes with the territory" with Zeenuts. This is an outstanding group! Total: 18 cards. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000+. SOLD FOR $1,896
