1911 D311 Pacific Coast Biscuit Pfyl - Highest Graded!

Starting Bid - $300, Sold For - $1,304

Graded EX/MT 80 by SGC. Extremely high grade D311 Pacific Coast Biscuit Co. sample card of Pfyl from the Oakland Oaks of the Pacific Coast League. This is the ONLY example graded at this level with none higher by SGC. In fact, this is one of only two D311 Pacific Coast Biscuit cards (of any player) ever graded EX/MT by SGC with none higher. (PSA has graded no EX-MT 6 but has graded one D311 NM 7). The PCL has always been of great interest to card collectors. The 72-card 1911 D311 Pacific Coast Biscuit Co. set is one of the most distinctive and visually impressive of all Pacific Coast League issues, and one of the rarest of all 1910-era issues. This extremely rare sample card is bright, crisp, and perfectly clean, front and back, with just the slightest hint of light, even wear on the corners, and near-perfect centering. The checklist reverse is also perfectly clean with bold black print. This is a stunning example, ideal for the serious PCL or sample-card collector, from one of the scarcest and most artistically designed of all 1910-era issues. Reserve $300. Estimate (open). SOLD FOR $1,304
