1914 T222 Fatima Rube Benton PSA NM 7 - 1 of 1 - Highest Graded!

Starting Bid - $500, Sold For - $1,778

Graded NM 7 by PSA. Outstanding high-grade example of Rube Benton (Cincinnati Reds) from the T222 Fatima set issued by the Leggett & Myers Tobacco Company in 1914. This is the ONLY example graded at this level by PSA (of any player) with none higher out of 388 cards evaluated to date. These individual-player Fatima cards are much rarer than the T200 Fatima team cards. The thin photographic stock and fragile glossy surface of these unusual real-photo style cards make them especially susceptible to creasing. The offered example is perfectly crisp and clean, with four sharp corners, outstanding clarity, and centering just a hint to the right. The reverse is clean and boldly printed. This is an incredible sample-card in a miraculous high-grade from this distinctive tobacco-card set, which advanced collectors recognize is far rarer than its more widely collected tobacco-card cousins, such as T205 and T206. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000+. SOLD FOR $1,778
