1912 T207 Brown Background Collection (34) Including Highest-Graded Hall of Fame Examples!

Starting Bid - $1,000, Sold For - $3,851

Collection of thirty-two different (plus two duplicates) 1912 T207 Brown Background cards, highlighted by Hall of Famers Roger Bresnahan, Rube Marquard, John McGraw (2), and Zach Wheat. These cards were originally gifted to our consignor decades ago by a neighbor whose husband collected them in his youth. All cards have Recruit advertising backs. We have selected three Hall of Famers to be graded by SGC. Marquard and McGraw are the only examples graded at their respective levels with none higher. This collection consists of the following: Austin/no insignia, Becker, Bresnahan (HOF, EX/NM+ 82), Byrne, Clarke, Covington, Crandall, Daubert, Delahanty, Derrick, two Devore, Dooin, Doyle, Drake, Ferry, Fisher/blue cap, Fletcher, Higgins, Knabe, Livingston/small "C", Marquard (HOF, NM 84), two McGraw (HOF, EX/NM 80 and Vg-Ex), Mitchell, Mullin, O'Toole, Reulbach, Simon, Smith, Snodgrass, Vaughn, Wheat (HOF, Vg-Ex with natural diamond cut), and Williams. The remaining cards, which are all bright and crisp, with bold colors, sharp corners, and outstanding original gloss, range in grade from Vg-Ex to Ex-Mt (averaging Ex) with the exception of four Vg. This is a substantial, bright, clean, and particularly attractive original-owner collection of T207 Brown Background cards with several extremely notable highlights. The equivalent SMR value for just the three graded Hall of Famers (factoring in the Bresnahan at the lower whole-grade level) is $3,015. Total: 34 cards. Reserve $1,000. Estimate $2,000+. SOLD FOR $3,851
