1912 T207 Brown Background Tris Speaker PSA NM 7 - Highest Graded!

Starting Bid - $2,000, Sold For - $7,110

Graded NM 7 by PSA. Highest-graded example! Classic card of Boston Red Sox Hall of Famer from the T207 Brown Background series, one of the most elusive as well as one of the most striking of all Tris Speaker cards. This example is bright and crisp, front and back, with a perfectly registered image set against a deep brown background, four sharp corners, and centered to the upper right. Recruit Little Cigars advertisement on reverse. The image area on this card, featuring Speaker's magnificent bat-on-shoulder pose artwork, is particularly bright, clean, and essentially flawless. This card is a gem that would be worthy of an even higher grade if centered just a bit better. Speaker has always been an extremely desirable T207, as one of the key Hall of Famers in the set, but has always been underrated in terms of rarity. The rarest cards in T207 are almost always issued only with advertising for Broadleaf or Cycle (or no advertising). Those cards issued only with Recruit backs are usually considered the more common cards in the set, but there are many exceptions, including Speaker. This is an extraordinarily attractive and extremely high grade example of one of Tris Speaker's best cards, and one of the the key Hall of Famers from the classic T207 set. SMR in the assigned grade is $5,750. Reserve $2,000. Estimate $4,000+. SOLD FOR $7,110
