1909-1911 T206 Ty Cobb Bat Off Shoulder

Starting Bid - $500, Sold For - $1,778

Graded VG/EX 50 by SGC. A very attractive example of one of Ty Cobb's most classic cards. The T206 Ty Cobb bat-off-shoulder pose is one of the key cards in the set. The offered card has virtually perfect centering, particularly full borders, vibrant colors, and near-perfect registration. This is a sharp-looking card, extremely clean both front and back, free of any creases or wrinkles, with even wear to the four corners keeping it from a higher grade. The Piedmont advertising on reverse is boldly printed and well centered. An outstanding technically mid-grade example of this popular Ty Cobb tobacco card from the T206 White Border series. The equivalent SMR value in the assigned grade is $1,500. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000/$1,500. SOLD FOR $1,778
