1909-1911 T206 George Mullin Throwing SGC NM 84 - El Principe De Gales Back - Highest Graded!

Starting Bid - $300, Sold For - $1,896

Graded NM 84 by SGC. One of only two graded at this level with none higher. Exceptional high-grade example of Detroit Tigers pitcher George Mullin (throwing pose) from the classic T206 White Border series featuring a desirable El Principe De Gales advertising reverse. El Principe De Gales is a scarce back, not in the same league as Drum or Uzit, but very unusual and seen far less often than the standard Piedmont or Sweet Caporal advertising backs. The offered example is bright and crisp with bold colors, four strong corners, and outstanding centering. The important advertising reverse is entirely clean and boldly printed. This is an ideal ultra high-grade sample of the unusual and desirable El Principe De Gales advertising back from the legendary T206 set. Reserve $300. Estimate (open). SOLD FOR $1,896
