1909-1911 T206 Roger Bresnahan Portrait - Rare Brown Hindu Back

Starting Bid - $200, Sold For - $948

Exceptional example of St. Louis Browns Hall of Famer Roger Bresnahan (portrait pose) featuring a desirable Brown Hindu advertising reverse. This card originates from an old-time collection of T206s consigned to this auction. Graded FAIR 20 by SGC (submitted by REA), this example is bright and crisp, presenting as Excellent on the front with four strong corners displaying light even wear, bold colors, and perfect centering. The back displays a small area of purple ink (responsible for the modest assigned grade) as well as extremely light glue residue from storage in an album at some point. The Hindu advertisement is boldly printed in brown ink. This is a superb Hall of Famer example featuring a scarce T206 advertising back, which is ranked as the fourteenth most difficult (out of thirty-nine) within the set by Reserve $200. Estimate (open).
