1909-1911 T206 SGC-Graded Hall of Fame Collection (4)

Starting Bid - $200, Sold For - $1,422

Exceptionally attractive collection of four Hall of Famers from the T206 White Border series, each of which is graded and encapsulated by SGC. 1) Chief Bender/portrait: VG 40. Bright colors and excellent centering with a natural diamond cut on the top and bottom borders. Downgraded due to two small areas of glue residue on the Piedmont reverse. 2) Eddie Collins: VG/EX 50. Very strong example with vibrant colors, perfect centering, and light wear to the corners. Clean Piedmont reverse. 3) Hughie Jennings/both hands: EX+ 70. Crisp and clean with bold colors, perfect centering, and a touch of wear to the upper left corner. Otherwise Nr/Mt. Clean Piedmont reverse. 4) Walter Johnson/portrait. POOR 10. Presenting as Ex-Mt on front with a light wrinkle on the right border. Perfect centering and colors with strong corners. Downgraded due to an area of vintage tape and paper loss on the otherwise clean Sovereign 350 reverse. This is a very attractive yet still relatively affordable group of four key Hall of Famers from the legendary T206 set. The equivalent SMR value for the four cards (factoring in the Jennings at the EX 5 level) is $690. Total: 4 cards. Reserve $200. Estimate $500+. SOLD FOR $1,422
