1909-1911 T206 White Border PSA-Graded Collection (77) - All El Principe de Gales Backs!

Starting Bid - $500, Sold For - $4,740

Presented is a collection of sixty-seven different cards (plus ten duplicates) from the classic T206 White Border series, comprised exclusively of cards featuring a desirable El Principe de Gales advertising reverse. Each card is graded and encapsulated by PSA. El Principe de Gales is a very scarce back, not in the same league as Drum or Uzit, but very unusual and seen far less often than the standard Piedmont or Sweet Caporal advertising back. This collection consists of the following: VG-EX+ 4.5 (1 card): Hartsel. VG-EX 4 (9 cards): Barbeau (MK), Chase/throwing dark cap, Devore, Elberfeld/Wash fielding, McAleese, Miller/Pittsburgh, Sheckard/glove showing, Stahl/glove shows (MC), and Wright. VG+ 3.5 (4 cards): Burchell, T. Jones, McAleese, and Stahl/glove shows. VG 3 (3 cards): Griffith/batting (HOF), Joe Dunn, and Rudolph. GOOD+ 2.5 (3 cards): Clarke/port. (HOF), Doolin, and Scott. GOOD 2 (13 cards): Barbeau, Covaleski (MK), Easterly, Jackson, Kisinger, Lavender, McAleese (MK), Milligan, Nichols/batting, Pelty/vertical (MC), Steinfeldt/bat (MK), White/pitching, and Willetts. FAIR 1.5 (13 cards): Ames/hands over head, Atz, Bradley/bat, two Burch/fielding, Conroy/bat, Joe Dunn, Elberfeld/Wash. fielding, Konetchy/glove above head, Manning/pitching, McIntyre/Brooklyn & Chi, Pfeister/throwing, and Spade. POOR 1 (26 cards): Abbaticchio/brown sleeves, Atz (MK), Beaumont, two Berger, Bescher/hands in air (MC), Brain, Demmitt/NY, Dougherty/arm in air, Jordan/port., Kleinow/NY catching, Kling (MK), Magee/bat, Needham, Oldring/batting, Reulbach/no glove, Rhodes (MK), Ritchey (MK), Rucker/throwing, Rucker/port. (MK), Schaeffer/Det (MK), He. Smith, Spencer, Tannehill (MK), Taylor, and Turner (MK). Authentic (5 cards): Bush, Doolin, Leach/port, Schulte/back view, and Wagner/right shoulder. This extremely substantial collection represents approximately fourteen percent of a complete T206 set, all with desirable El Principe de Gales advertising backs. The total SMR value in the assigned grades for fifty-seven of the seventy-seven cards (not including the fifteen qualified cards and also not including the five cards graded "Authentic" and factoring in the twenty-one half-grades at the lower whole-grade level) is $2,019 (with no premium added for the more desirable El Principe de Gales reverses). Total: 77 cards. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000/$2,000+. SOLD FOR $4,740
