1909-1911 T206 Southern Leaguer PSA- and SGC-Graded Collection (18)

Starting Bid - $300, Sold For - $1,896

Collection of eighteen different scarce T206 Southern Leaguers (out of the 48 cards which comprise the entire “Southern League” subset), each graded and encapsulated by PSA or SGC (all submitted by REA). Six cards range in grade from GOOD to EX while the remaining twelve are encapsulated as "Authentic" due to evidence of trimming. These cards were collected by our consignor in the days prior to professional grading and were very carefully selected with an emphasis on quality and overall eye appeal. Every card in this collection is extremely attractive, and even the lesser-graded examples present at a level far superior to their assigned grades (a small technical flaw accounts for the downgrade in each instance). All have Piedmont advertising backs unless otherwise noted. This collection consists of the following: Bastian - San Antonio (SGC Authentic), B. Hart - Little Rock (PSA VG-EX 4), J. Hart - Montgomery (SGC Authentic), Lentz - Little Rock (PSA Authentic), Lipe - Richmond (PSA GOOD 2, Old Mill), Miller - Dallas (SGC Authentic), Mullaney - Jacksonville (PSA VG 3, Old Mill), Orth - Lynchburg (PSA Authentic, Old Mill), Otey - Norfolk (SGC Authentic), Paige - Charleston (SGC Authentic, Old Mill), Persons - Montgomery (PSA VG-EX 4), Reagan - New Orleans (PSA Authentic, Old Mill), Revelle - Richmond (SGC Authentic, Old Mill), Ryan - Roanoke (GOOD+ 2.5), Seitz - Norfolk (PSA EX 5), Smith - Shreveport (PSA Authentic), Stark - San Antonio (SGC Authentic, Old Mill), and Violat - Jacksonville (SGC Authentic, Old Mill). The Southern Leaguers have always been appreciated for their scarcity and as a popular subset to the T206 series. Collectors find it particularly challenging to assemble a complete set. This is a very impressive looking group. The scarcity of the Southern Leaguers has always made putting together a complete T206 set all the more difficult, and this collection represents a particularly attractive and affordable foundation for the assembly of this popular T206 subset. The SMR value for just the six numerically graded cards is $880. Total: 18 cards. Reserve $300. Estimate $500/$1,000. SOLD FOR $1,896
