1888 N28 Allen & Ginter Mike Kelly PSA NM 7

Starting Bid - $800, Sold For - $4,740

Graded NM 7 by PSA. Magnificent high-grade example of Mike "King" Kelly from the 1888 N28 Allen & Ginter set. One of the most classic Hall of Fame cards of the era. Four square corners showing only tiny traces of wear, flawless colors, and near-perfect registration (slightly off around Kelly's face). The front is bright and perfectly clean. The reverse has just a hint of very light toning, possibly the result of long ago being removed from an album. This is extremely minor but is mentioned for the sake of extreme accuracy. Nineteenth-century cards are rarely found this sharp. This is an exceptional high-grade example of one of the nineteenth-century's most legendary stars from one of the most popular of all nineteenth-century sets. The SMR value in the assigned grade is $3,200. Reserve $800. Estimate $1,500/$2,500. SOLD FOR $4,740
